Booker Prize nominee, and Indian-born Canadian citizen Rohinton Mistry
cancelled the rest of his US book tour in disgust. His latest book was
touted on Oprah, and he's supposed to be a well-known personality, but
Mistry says he and his wife have been humiliated at every airport
they've been in in the U.S. and are just fed up with the police state
the place has turned into.

Related news: we must be doing something right -- Pat Buchanan, who's
always been one cannonball short of a secure station, calls us
"Canucklestan" even though it's the US that's the haven for terrorists.
We take great pride in having drawn his fire. Like the class idiot
criticizing your geometry theorem.

“The first duty of a university is to teach wisdom, not a trade;
character, not technicalities. We want a lot of engineers in the modern
world, but we don’t want a world of engineers.” – Sir Winston Churchill
