As I write this I am listening to the Carnival of the Animals by Saint
Sans. I have heard it many times. But for the first time I have noticed
the part for the elephant. What a marvelous showcase for the double
bass! Are there others among you that are familiar with this work? My two
favorite tunes are The Aquarium and The Swan.
