True. I guess I just wanted to avoid the cfg file steps. (lazy)
What I'd really like is to be able to "flash archive" and create a
"template" zone.
And then pull it out (flash a zone) and have a fresh zone to work with.
(Or whatever other method would speed up the install:

you are doing this the old fashion way, we have ZFS now, and in
solaris express at least it supports putting zones on top of ZFS and
then using a zfs clone to recreate the zone it reduces zone creation
time

Ordinarily to remove a zone, it says to:
------------------
Step1: zoneadm -z ps-eng6-zoneX halt
Step2: zoneadm -z ps-eng6-zoneX uninstall
Step3: zonecfg -z ps-eng6-zoneX delete

but I just want to lay down a new OS in my zone.
Can I just do it this way (skipping deleting the zone)?:
Step1: zoneadm -z ps-eng6-zoneX halt
Step2: zoneadm -z ps-eng6-zoneX uninstall
Step3: zoneadm -z ps-eng6-zoneX install
Step4: zoneadm -z ps-eng6-zoneX boot

Yes, although I suggest checking the status of the zone after the
'uninstall'. It
should be 'configured'. Any other status may indicate failure of the
uninstallation process.

Just curious: how is this valuable? 'Delete' and 'zonecfg' are very
lightweight
steps.
