Hi experts,

This is chunhuan from SC.
I have some questions to consult you.

OS: Solaris 10

The Cu said that there was something problem only in local zone
/export/zone1,and they want to restore this zone, they want to know
how to backup and restore the zone.

According to [SystemAdministration Guide: Solaris Containers-Resource
Management and Solaris Zones] (manual 8192450), they should reinstall
zone, and then restore file.

Questions:

At that time, which the following backup and restore method should be
used ?

1) on global zone, use tar command to backup content of /export/zone1
when restore, after reinstall zone, use tar command on the global one
   to restore /export/zone1

2) or on local zone, use tar command to backup the content of /
when restore, after reinstall zone, login this local zone
use tar command on the local zone to restore beginning from /

3) on which condition (like the fillowing), they can execute zone backup
   or restore

-- must execute backup on global zone
-- may execute backup on local zone
-- must execute restore on global zone
-- may execute restore on local zone

Thank you very much.
Best Regards
chunhuan
