Yes. This is wildly useful for improving performance. In many applications, a good way to improve performance is to allocate a larger object cache using more physical memory. (Buying more RAM is a very cost effective hardware upgrade.)

Zope3 uses the same ZODB that Zope 2 uses, so the necessary infrastructure is there. No one has written the equivalent UI tool AFAIK.
