Ah ok, well yeah, in my experience it happens that some requirements exceed the version in the distro.  Even if they did *today*, 6 months from now when another Zope comes out requiring a new python version, you'd have to build one yourself anyways.
 
Might as well get used to it now :)  It's pretty straight-forward mind you.

I think the problems were related to OS software versions like Python. And most of us don't like rolling our own packages if we don't have to I'd guess. :) But I've decided to give CentOS 4.2 (or RHEL4U2 in "that" language :)) a shot anyway.
