If you want a mailing list manager, use a mailing list manager.
If you want a web application framework, use Zope ;-)
Mailman is certainly easier to install and well documented.
...not to mention having one or two more users ;-)
But...and it's a big but (no pun intended)...the beauty of Mail Boxer is that it all gets included in the Data.fs,
That, quite frankly, would terrify me for all but one or two small to
medium sized mailing lists ;-)
so it can be searched.
Look into solutions for providing mailman with searchable archives,
since this is your real problem.
That said, if these lists aren't private, I'd just dispose of the whole
problem and use google groups or similar.
