Issue
  plone template should have an option to generate skins folder and related xml
files (http://plone.org/products/zopeskel/issues/54)

- Issue state: Unconfirmed -> Rejected

**Response Details**::

    I understand this is frustrating, but I think it's by design. The
    'plone' template is a bare-bones plone product. If you are doing
    stuff with the skins folder, you should probably use the
    'plone3_theme' template or the 'archetype' template.

    Even when I'm not doing content type things, I always use the
    'archetype' template (the 'plone3_theme' template is overkill if
    you're not doing theme stuff). You get all those folders you end
    up needing anyway :)

    I think this speaks to the sort of confusing way that the
    templates are arranged and named. IIRC, all of the plone-related
    templates ('archetype', 'plone_pas', etc) derive from the 'plone'
    template, and I'd bet that it's just there mostly as a base for
    the others (but don't quote me on that).

    JJ
