9M8    - Mirek, VK6DXI  (9M8DX)  has  been  active  as  9M8DX/2  from  Kuala
        Lumpur, West Malaysia during a business trip. He is  now  going  to
        Kuching, East Malaysia (arriving on 13 August  in  the  local  late
        evening and departing in the local  early  morning  of  the  17th),
        where  he  will  operate  as   9M8DX,    including    a    "relaxed
        participation" in the WAE DX  CW  Contest.  QSL  via  SP5UAF.  [TNX

CE     - Ismael, CE1TUW and several other operators others  will  be  active
        as CE1Z from the lighthouse at Punta Tetas (ARLHS CHI-075) for  the
        International Lighthouse/Lightship  Weekend  (21-22  August).  They
        will operate SSB and digital modes on 40, 20,  15  and  10  metres.

CX     - The Radio Club Uruguayo will operate as CW1A  from  the  lighthouse
        at Punta Brava (ARLHS URU-012) on 20-22 August. There  will  be  at
        least two stations active on  80-10  metres  CW,  SSB  and  digital
        modes, plus another station for the VHF and UHF bands.  QSL  direct
        only to  Radio  Club  Uruguayo,  P.O.  Box  37,  11000  Montevideo,

CX     - The Centro de Radioaficionados de Rocha (CX1TA) will be  active  as
        CW0T  from  the  lighthouse  at  Cape  Santa  Maria   during    the
        International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend.  QSL  via  EA5KB.  [TNX

F      - F8AHQ and F6IFC will be cruising in the Morbihan (Bretagne)  waters
        between 12 and 22 August. They plan to visit  and  operate  from  a
        few islands (especially Groix and Belle-Ile)  in  the  EU-048  IOTA
        group, as well as from Ile Longue (not IOTA)  and  Ile  aux  moines
        (not IOTA). If the weather is fine, they might also go and  operate
        from the Glenan islands (EU-094). Look for them on around 7070  and

F      - Commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of King  Henry  IV
        the Great, the Radio Club of Pau will be active  as  TM400H  during
        the weekends between 13 August and 26  September.  QSL  via  F6KDU,

FK/C   - Michel,  FK8IK  is  part  of   a  scientific   expedition  to   the
        Chesterfield Islands (OC-176) and will be there  until  19  August.
        He operates CW only as FK8IK/C during  his  spare  time,  on  80-10
        metres using 100 watts and dipoles. QSL via FK8IK. [TNX NG3K]
GU     - Bob, M0MCV will be active  as  MU0MCV  from  Guernsey  (EU-114)  on
        16-21 August. He will operate holiday  style  on  the  HF  and  VHF

HA     - Members of the HA8KWO club station  will  operate  SSB  and  CW  as
        HG8SDS (QSL  via  HA8PH)  and  HG8WFF  (QSL  via  HA8MT)  from  the
        historic site of Veszto-Magor in the Koros-Maros National  Park  on

I      - Francesco, IV3TMM will  be  active  as  IG9/IV3TMM  from  Lampedusa
        (AF-019) on 14-19 August.
LA     - The Jaeren Amateur Radio Club (LA1J) will be active  from  Obrestad
        Lighthouse on 16-22 August.  They  will  run  five  fully  equipped
        stations on all bands and modes. QSL via LA1J,  direct  or  bureau.

OH     - OH1BOI, OH1FEQ and OH1JJO will be  active  as  OH1AV/2  from  Vormo
        Island (EU-097) on 20-22 August. QSL via OH1BOI. [TNX rsgbiota.org]
OZ     - Look for OZ0FR/p to be  active  (SSB  and  CW)  from  Samso  Island
        (EU-172) on 14-20 August and from  National  Park  Mols  Bjerge  on
        21-27 August. QSL via DL2VFR. [TNX DL2VFR]
PJ4    - A multi-national team of 15-20 operators  is  being  formed  to  be
        active from Bonaire on 10-24 October "in anticipation  of  the  new
        DXCC status on 10 October 2010".  The  current  list  of  operators
        includes DJ8NK, DL9USA, K6AM,  N0VD,  PA3GVI,  PA8A,  PA8F,  PE2KY,
        PE2MC, PG4M, PJ4GT, PJ4LS, PJ4NX, W0LSD, W4PA and WP3UX. They  plan
        to be QRV on 160-10 metres SSB,  CW  and  digital  modes  from  six
        locations around the island. "Due to the time  of  year,  6  meters
        will not likely produce much activity", they say, "but it  will  be
        a  consideration".  The  group  has  been  granted  use  of   Radio
        Netherlands relay station's "impressive aerial park, which provides
        up to 21 dBd gain, during their dead hours", i.e. between 12.30 and
        18.30 UTC on a daily basis. They expect to utilize this opportunity
        on  30,  20,  15  and  17 metres. All of the QSOs will be confirmed
        automatically  via the bureau through the services of  Global  QSL.

SM     - Kjell, SM4DDS will operate CW and SSB  as  7S5A  from  Boko  Island
        (EU-177) until 15 August. QSL via SM4DDS. [TNX SM4DDS]
SV     - Celebrating their club's Silver Jubilee, all of the members of  the
        Radio Amateur Association of West Greece  (RAAWG)  are  allowed  to
        use the special prefix SX25 until 27 October.  Information  on  the
        relevant award can be found at qrz.com under SX25A. [TNX SV1DPI]
TA     - TA2RX will be active as TC3LHW from Karaburun Sarpincik  Lighthouse
        (ARLHS TUR-073) on 15 August. Look for him to operate mainly on  20

UA     - Look for RA1ALA/1, RA1ALK/1 and RX1AW/1 to be active  from  Russkiy
        Kuzov Island (EU-147) on 16-28 August. QSL  via  home  calls.  [TNX

VE     - Len, VE9MY and Linda, VE9GLF will be active from IOTA group  NA-027
        on 20-29 August, with side trips to  NA-198  depending  on  weather
        and boat transportation. They will operate holiday style mainly  on

XX9    - Vincent, F4BKV  will  be  active  as  XX9TKV  from  Coloane  island
        (AS-075), Macao on 13-14 August. He will be running 100 watts  into
        a vertical antenna, with a  focus  on  30  and  17  metres  digital

Z2     - Herbert, 7Z1HB will be active again as Z21LS from Harare,  Zimbabwe
        on 13-19 August. He will have no antennas for the  low  bands.  QSL

DXCC NEWS ---> 9UXEV (Burundi, 2010 operation) has been  approved  for  DXCC
credit. If you had this QSO rejected in a recent submission,  please  send a
note to d...@arrl.org. Please check  either your  LoTW account or  the  live
online daily DXCC listing , when credits are updated  they  will  appear  at

E2E ---> On 7 August 2010 the Thailand licensing authority approved the  use
of the call sign E2E for all HF bands and all modes. "This  is  a  real  and
legitimate  call",  HS0ZCW  says,  "sought  for  contests    and   DXing  in
representing Thailand on an equal basis like other 1x1  callsigns  of  other
nations". The callsign has been issued  to  the  Radio  Amateur  Society  of
Thailand's club station in Bangkok, whose main callsign remains HS0AC.

ILLW  --->  The  12th  annual  International  Lighthouse/Lightship  Weekend,
organized and managed by the Ayr Amateur Radio Group, will take  place  from
00.01 UTC on 21 August until 23.59 UTC on the 22nd. Complete information  on
this popular event can be found  at  illw.net.  The  list  of  participating
stations (nearly 390 so far) is at http://illw.net/

QSL B4R/5 ---> Please note that the QSL route for the recent B4R/5  activity
from IOTA group AS-138 is via BA4TB  (not  BY4RSA,  which  is  the  ordinary
route for contacts made with B4R). [TNX BA4TB]

QSL VIA VE1AL ---> "I am ashamed to admit that I have found a  box  of  QSLs
that I thought had been sent via the  bureau  many  years  ago",  Al,  VE1AL
says. "The cards are for QSOs with CY9DXX, CY0DXX, VE1AL and  VF1L,  plus  a
few for other callsigns I have used. I  am  integrating  my  2010  QSLs  for
VE1AL with these cards and they should be in the mail to the  bureau  within
the next few weeks. Well over 1000 QSLs are involved and I regret that  many
will probably be returned due to various reasons". All of Al's  computerized
logs have been uploaded to LoTW, "but that  does  not  include  the  CY9  or
CY0DXX logs".

ZS8M ---> Pierre, ZS8M is off the air from marion Island  until  19  August,
while the supply ship is being unloaded. A new website, including  pictures,
