I emailed thanks and a snippet of the tune, but don't know if it got posted.
Thanks again anyway for your help. I have done what I should have done in
the first place and transcribed the arrangement. It comes out roughly as
follows:
DF {G}((3FGF) DFEF| DF {G}((3FGF) AFEF|DF {G}((3FGF) D3 d|(3cdc Bc AFEF|
!DF {G}((3FGF) DFEF| DF {G}((3FGF) AFEF|DF {G}((3FGF) D3 d|(3cdc Bc AFEF||
!A2 (3AAA e2 (3AAA|ABcA BGEB|A2 (3AAA e2 (3AAA|AGEF GABG|
!A2 (3AAA e2 (3AAA|ABcA BGEB|A2 (3AAA a2 ga| ~f2 ec dBAF||
Can you comment on the arrangement?
John

Seems to be a tune which generates lots of variants, doesn't it?

You'll need a header to make the abc work, like this:

X:1
T:Dublin Reel
R:Reel
M:C|
K:D
DF {G}((3FGF) DFEF| DF {G}((3FGF) AFEF|DF {G}((3FGF) D3 d|(3cdc Bc AFEF|
!DF {G}((3FGF) DFEF| DF {G}((3FGF) AFEF|DF {G}((3FGF) D3 d|(3cdc Bc AFEF||
!A2 (3AAA e2 (3AAA|ABcA BGEB|A2 (3AAA e2 (3AAA|AGEF GABG|
!A2 (3AAA e2 (3AAA|ABcA BGEB|A2 (3AAA a2 ga| ~f2 ec dBAF||

The exclamation marks would only be used by abc2win.
As to the musical arrangement, I'm not a fiddler but it looks and sounds OK to me.
