This is the ONLY set of disks I have of TVZ and, as I have already
read around, it is not considered his best. However, I believe in
this performance! It is raw, honest, and give a "feeling" of TVZ
that, to me, is inspiring as well as evocative. Practically most of
his songs are on this 2 CD set and, rough as the guitar playing is, I
have learned a lot just by listening and working out what he played
all the while envisioning a clearer more clean cut output from me. It
is quite a challenge!
I don't hear much about this set in this forum as, it may seem, it is
sort of a taboo subject here. I hope that the TVZ family is receiving
royalties from this set. If they are not, what would the normal
royalty be for this CD set and I will even pay it directly to the TVZ
family!
What do you guys think about this set? I know it was at the end of a
grueling European tour, that he was not at his "best," and that the
recording quality is rough at best. However, does TVZ still come
through with his personality and his own vision in this set or do you
feel that it was really a rip-off to make money and to show him at
his worst? Furthermore, if you feel that this is TVZ at his worst, I
certainly would be awestruck by his best! You already know how I
feel, so shoot!!
