I wanted to take a moment to share a significant milestone in my journey as a visually challenged civil servant, hoping that it may inspire and encourage many of you. To the best of my knowledge, I am the first 100% visually challenged IAS officer in the country to be posted as Commissioner of a Municipal Corporation. I have recently taken charge as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Bathinda around a week back, and this role presents both immense challenges and exciting opportunities. This milestone is not just personal; it is a reflection of the possibilities that exist for persons with disabilities in public service. I believe that our presence in leadership roles helps break stereotypes, paves the way for greater accessibility, and reinforces the belief that disability is not a limitation, but a different way of leading and solving problems. I wanted to share this with the Access India community because many of us continue to push boundaries in different fields. I hope this encourages more of us to aim high, break barriers, and strive for excellence in every sphere. Best regards, Ajay Arora, IAS Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bathinda -- Disclaimer: 1.
