The best I can offer is that someone needs to take up the openSuse and/or Kubuntu packages and polish them up so that they work properly. Otherwise, Mer is quite focused on supported devices and is not going to be generally useful for things such as full featured laptops (mostly due to lack of package availability). -- Aaron J. Seigo
