container -- a special type of Active Directory object. A container is like other directory objects in that it has attributes and is part of the Active Directory namespace. However, unlike other objects, it does not usually represent something concrete. It is the container for a group of objects and other containers. organizational unit (OU) -- a container object that is an Active Directory administrative partition.
