USB is good. But I both this unit because of the serial inteface. Which also meen that I can use it with alsa. But USB have some limititations. For example 5 meter cable length. Not all laptops have USB. USB don't work very well on some older Athlon moderboards. But they have changed the web now, and they have also released 1.08 version of the driver. But the 1.05 DONT work. And now. Full speed on all midi ports dont go to well with 115 kbit/s serial. There 9 ports. Not 8. One port is for the SMPTE. They have updated the web page and the driver. And you are rigth, they clames that the new driver should work with serial port. But it don't. Not yet. There is no dialog box for selecting the serial port, and there is no serial port property in the device manager. > > bar! -- foo! _______________________________________________ Alsa-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-devel
