Hi,
i have a usb headset (gembird GEMBIRD AP-5.1) which has an own sound card in
it:
I compiled the 1.0.11 alsa, drivers, lib and tools from yesterday. The modules
are loaded well. I have it running on a SuSE 9.3.
When I use the headset to watch videos, I have great sound. Also when I use the
headset to listen to myself, then I can use kmixer to make the input and output
channels loud and silent. works well.
Nevertheless, I want to use the headset with my sip softphone. Unfortunately
when I move the input or otput mixer up and down it only affects my side, it
gets louder and silent in the speakers, but on the other side i am still
hearable. I also can mute the microphone and the other side of the call is
still able to listen to me.
Another thing is, not so much important: along the USB cable, where the sound
card is in, there is a + and - button for louder and silent, and a third button
with a headphones, These three do not work. The only button is that works is
the one to mute the microphone.
I tried with twinkle and with kphone on the above mentioned SuSE Linux.
As the sound is great for watching videos, it would be a pity when I cannot use
the headset when on the phone. So is there anything that can be done to make it
work?
kind regards
Sebastian
