You have to use aoss - direct access to /dev/dsp bypasses all of
alsa-lib (all configs, mixing, routing, etc.). Then set
ALSA_OSS_PCM_DEVICE to the device you want to use.
If your app does not work with aoss unfortunately you are screwed.
Which application are you trying to get to work?
