Hello I still cannot manage to get an AC3 stream from my intel8x0 (nforce2, A7n8x deluxe board) chipset with kernel 2.6.5.
Here's what works: - Raw PCM -> OK - DTS stream -> OK but detected as a DTS stream from an audio CD, not from a DVD. - AC3 stream -> my amp is silent. I sometime get a small scratchy noise when I fast forward a movie with mplayer Since the DTS stream is decoded but recognized as an old DTS CD. My best guess is the amplifier gets a "digital audio" SPDIF stream with DTS. For AC3, this set up does not work as there's no provisionm to be able to decode an AC3 stream from an audio CD. Is there any way to verify this ? Or should I forget about the intel8x0 chipset and buy a PCI soundcard ?
