Well after trying everything I realized that I am dealing with the wrong file. (/etc/asoundrc instead of /etc/asound.conf) The bright side that I find a good docs in the meanwhile. http://wiki.splitbrain.org/alsa asoundrc is extracted from alsa wiki.
