Orillia, Ontario, Canada March 30, 2006 After months of planning and working behind the scenes, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the 9th edition of the Annual Casino Rama World Series of Fastball is ready to go. The organizing committee has always tried very hard to assemble the best line-up of teams possible. We feel that we have once again accomplished just that. For the first time since year number one we will have a large contingent of very competitive Ontario teams competing at the tournament. The date for the 2006 tournament will be Friday, July 14th to Sunday, July 16th. We are also working on setting up some exhibition games leading into the Casino Rama World Series of Fastball tournament weekend. More information on those games will be released in the coming weeks. The location of the tournament has not changed and the tournament will again take place on the shores of Lake Simcoe, at Kitchener Park. 2006 Participating Teams: County Materials from Marathon, Wisconsin reigning ISC World Champions The Farm Tavern from Madison, Wisconsin one of the Orillia fan favorites Hallman Twins from Kitchener, Ontario a very strong Ontario based team and the host team for the 2006 ISC World Tournament Patsys from New York A new team with some very familiar dominating players Kegal Black Knights from Fargo, North Dakota another new team in Orillia and one we are looking forward to see in action Midland Explorers from Midland, Michigan another one of the Orillia fan favorites Hefflin Gremlins from Ballston Lake, New York making a return to Orillia after a short absence Evergreen Centennials from St. Thomas, Ontario defending Canadian Champions Bright Cheese Eagles from Innerkip, Ontario making their first ever visit to the annual tournament For the first time in the 8 year history of the tournament, the Casino Rama World Series of Fastball will showcase a host team. The Orillia River Sharks will try and make history in becoming the first Canadian team to win the annual tournament. Tickets for the tournament will go on sale beginning May 1, 2006. The prices for the tournament are as follows: Full Tournament Pass: $25.00 2-Day pass (Saturday & Sunday): $20.00 Individual Day Passes will be available for purchase at the gate only Friday Night: $7.00 Saturday: $15.00 after 5:00 PM: $7.00 Sunday: $12.00 As always, children 14 and under are admitted free. We will also be sending out a special ticket offer to members of the World Series of Fastball mailing list in the coming weeks. The tournament website will soon be updated with team rosters, the tournament schedule and additional information.
