disk offline error

I am using Red Hat Linux on Power PC.
I wanted to BACKUP my SYSTEM IMAGE with AMANDA (version 2.4.2p2) and got 
following error message wonder why!

FAIL planner my_host_name hdk1 0 [disk hdk1 offline on my_local_host?]

Any hints/tips or related information is appreciated!
