on 2.6.2 RC, you might consider this.

yes, I think specifically, it is a mysql 5.1.x issue.  It looked fine 
with 5.0 also.
Thank you for checking, this does, then look like a mysql 5.1 
optimization issue.

then, MAYBE, the answer to both problems is a combination of changing 
the query (take out limit?) and have amavisd 2.6 just pop the first 
answer off the stack?
