try generic access:
clamdscan -V
if that works, check scanner:
cd to /tmp
make a file there (any file) that is world readable.
clamdscan {that file name}
if that doesn't work, go back to clamav group.
if it does:
now, check perms:
cd to amavisd home/tmp dir.
hopefully, there is something left there.
clamdscan {that dir}
if you can't scan it, its permissions.
