I'm able to use HttpClient just fine (in fact, just posted some sample code for doing multipart posts).
If the browser does succeed in loading the site, can you post your code? There are a lot of variables and code will make it a lot easier. The emulator at least used to have issues accessing site through proxies networks, I'm not sure this is currently the case.
