My first response when looking at your error was that you need to point your libz.so to your 32 bit version. I would try that first and see if that works. Try doing an 'ls -l' on /usr/lib/libz.so and see where that points. My first guess is that you need to create a symlink to the 32bit version, /usr/lib32/libz.so.
