There are onCreate(), onPause(), onResume(), onStop(), onRestart() as 
described in 
http://code.google.com/intl/ru/android/reference/android/app/Activity.html#ActivityLifecycle
 
you might want to override some of them.
Maybe you might want to perform your loading process in onCreate() ?

I used a bool, and it definitely works... but I'm thinking there's
just a cleaner way of doing this involving how activities are started
and called from the stack. I'll keep an eye out.
