I almost don't dare to write it but I want to implement iPhone like navigation behaviour where you can have nested navigation within a tab. For UI consistency reasons I wanted the tabs to be still visible as the new screen is specific to the one tab. I think I will leave that now knowing that Nested ActivityGroups are not supported.
