I am working with a custom MicroSD chip that draws slightly more power
than a standard microsd card. So far on most phones this hasn't been
an issue. On the HTC Dream and Magic, however, the microsd card
doesn't get enough power when being run on battery power. When plugged
into USB or A/C power, the chip works just fine. I know it isn't a
general android issue, as the same code and chip work on a Samsung
Galaxy. I therefore suspect it is a power management issue with HTC
phones. Is there any settings or calls to control the power management
of the card reader? I would really like to get this to work on the
Dream and Magic, if possible.

For more information and how I arrived at the conclusion of a power
issue, see:
