Generated exceptions ignore uml abstract flag

Trying to generate an exception which the service depends on which is an
abstract base class. This generates the right method sig. Then I wanted to
subclass these exceptions with concrete exceptional states. I would never
through the base class and would like it to be abstract but the cartridge
ignores the abstract uml flag.
