Summer Internship Program

Students from all over the world are invited to take their first steps in OpenOffice.org development. A cash bounty up to 3.500 EUR per enhancement or bug fix is available. Mentors will guide students through OpenOffice.org development. Read More »

OpenOffice.org will be hosting booth 410 at this years American Library Association 2010 National Conference/Expo.

This month in the Community Council

Community Council Elections

  • Olivier Hallot and Eike Rathke have been confirmed to represent "you" in the Community Council.
    The current elections and the underlying process is documented here.
  • In the next Community Council meeting it will be decided how to proceed with regard to the "Product Development Representative". Most likely, the whole elections for this role will be re-done. Thus, other community members might consider their nomination.

Success Stories

Petrobras deploys OpenOffice.org in 90 thousands desktops

Petroleo Brasileiro SA, a 123 Billion oil and gas corporation - initiated the deployment of BrOffice.org (or OpenOffice.org in Brazil) in all its desktops, estimated up to 90.000 machines. Marcia Novaes, the Petrobras IT department project coordinator, stated “We also defined
the change of our internal document standards and we adopted ODF"
