1) Love of country and nation guarantees country's prosperity

Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- Love of the country and the nation is a
guarantee for the prosperity and development of the country, says Rodong
Sinmun today in a signed article. The article goes on:
National self-respect is not simple love for the nation but patriotic
devotion to the defence of the sovereignty and dignity of the country and
the nation and to the prosperity of the country.
Those who have no love of the country and the nation cannot devote
themselves to the country and the people.
No matter how the situation and circumstances may change the people
strong in national identity and strong in love for the nation do not abandon
the spirit, tradition, customs and way of life peculiar to the nation but
struggle to defend and develop them.
When all the people deeply understand the history and the superiority of
tradition of their nation, they have high national pride and self-respect
and come out in the sacred struggle for the country and the people.
National self-respect should be fully displayed in the struggle against
the class enemies and imperialist aggressors.
The dignity and honor of the nation are unthinkable when the dignity of
the nation is trampled down and the sovereignty of the country ruthlessly
violated by foreign forces.
The imperialists are now talking about "whole human view on value" and
working hard to dissolve the independent spirit of a nation in it in a bid
to taint people with corrupt capitalist culture and way of life, paralyze
the love for the nation and class consciousness and achieve their
dominationist purpose.
That is why all the countries of the world value the superiority and
tradition of their nations and educate the people in them.
The Korean people have the national pride and self-confidence of having
President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and living under the
advantageous socialist system. they will wage a dynamic struggle to build a
powerful nation in this land, loudly boasting of this honor and happiness.
2) DPRK remains unfazed under any situation

Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The DPRK will deal with the world and
the situation from the standpoint of adhering to its ideology, system and
cause under whatever situation. It will firmly build up the army and solve
all the problems related to the international situation and relations. This
is an invariable independent stand and firm will of the DPRK.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed commentary.
It goes on:
It is a foolish delusion for the U.S. imperialists to threaten and
blackmail the DPRK and hurt it, taking advantage of the "September 11
Incident".
This incident threw the world into a catastrophic crisis and great
confusion in the overall international relations.
It is only the DPRK that remains unfazed, unaffected by it.
There is no reason for us to read other's face or curry favor with
anyone no matter how the world situation may change.
We are keeping to the road chosen by ourselves, saying what we should
do. The Korean people see everything going well and feel quite reassured.
This astonishing reality of the DPRK is the result of the army-based policy
pursued by leader Kim Jong Il.
As long as he is following the army-based policy, wisely commanding the
army, the DPRK will remain strong for ever and Korean-style socialism
steadily advance.
The lesson drawn by the Korean people under the present complicated
international situation is that the destiny of the country and the nation
entirely depends on whether a nation has a great leader or not and the
nation's security and sovereignty cannot be preserved without strong
military forces guided by the army-based policy.
Even the slightest slackening of alertness and self-complacency may give
the enemy an opportunity of attack.
It is necessary to heighten the revolutionary vigilance to the maximum
under the prevailing situation.
As the U.S. long-term war against "terrorism" and its plan to stifle the
DPRK suggest, the U.S. bellicose forces have not yet abandoned their wild
ambition to seize the whole of Korea by strangulating the DPRK by its
strong-arm policy, its war strategy in the 21st century.
If the U.S. imperialists try to test its logic of strength on the DPRK
as they are using it against some countries, they will be annihilated to the
last man.
The DPRK is also prepared to shatter the Japanese reactionaries' moves
for reinvasion. The escalated moves of the U.S. and Japanese reactionaries
to stifle the DPRK in a bid to realize their aggressive designs compel the
army and people of the DPRK to closely watch their every move with
heightened revolutionary vigilance and alertness.
They will as always defend everything by the might of the army-based
politics just as they did their ideology, system and cause with the
army-based politics, the commentary concludes.
3) Army-centered politics praised

Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- The socialist people's rally of
Democratic Congo held a lecture meeting on Nov. 23 on the occasion of the
10th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as supreme commander of
the Korean People's Army and the 84th birth anniversary of the great
communist revolutionary fighter Kim Jong Suk. The general secretary of the
rally gave a lecture on the subject of "respected comrade Kim Jong Il's
great army-centered leadership" and "revolutionary career of great Kim Jong
Suk."
Meanwhile, the Monima socialist organization of Madagascar gave a
lecture on Nov. 24 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's
election as supreme commander of the KPA.
The general secretary of the organization said in his lecture that the
most correct political mode to defend and glorify socialism is the
army-based politics set forth by Kim Jong Il.

New Delhi, December 4 (KCNA) -- D.D. Shastry, chairman of the
coordinating centre of Indian Trade Unions, released a statement on November
30 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election
as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. Kim Jong Il has steadily
strengthened the KPA with his iron will, unparalleled pluck, rare military
strategy and outstanding commanding art, attaining the highest stage of army
building and providing a guarantee for the victorious advance of the
revolutionary cause of Juche in the arduous ordeals of history, he said, and
continued:
The KPA has kept to its revolutionary character and mission despite the
arduous ordeals of history and reliably guarantees the building of a
powerful and prosperous nation and final accomplishment of the revolutionary
cause of Juche.
It is the most brilliant exploits Kim Jong Il performed for the
fatherland, revolution, times and history that the KPA has developed into a
matchless army in ideological and moral traits and combat power and is able
to creditably defend the revolutionary cause of Juche by arms.
