Melvin N. Westwood, professor emeritus of horticulture at Oregon State 
University, states in his classic textbook, Temperate Zone Pomology Physiology 
and Culture that under ideal conditions, maximum yields for Apples are 112 
MT/ha which is 2081 bushels per acre. See Page 298, Table 11-7. (1 MT/ha = 892 
lb/ac, 1bu of apples = 48 lb)
