Ouch. My thinking was disturbingly inflexible there.

Anyway, I patched libofx/lib/ofx_request.cpp to send 1500 as the  
version number (it's the only 1200 in the file, so s/1200/1500/g  
works as a patchscript argument in a packaging file) and  
ofxdirectconnect works for me as well as the old version.

Chris, are you able to try the patch and attempt a connect to BofA?  
You don't have to rebuild gnucash after rebuilding/reinstalling  
libofx, but you may have to quit and restart gnucash if you leave it  
running while modifying libofx.

We should probably move this to libofx-devel or back to gnucash- 
somethingorother for the followup.
