Dont know about the "Magic" part, but about accessing the drive with a DOS boot disk... nope. Not really. XP is using NTFS, AFAIK, and DOS usually support FAT16 and FAT32. (FAT16 with or without LFN). For NTFS, you need special support... Now, I -did- see a TSR floating around that is seposed to give you etleast a limited read-only access for NTFS partitions. Cant remember where it is, though.. sorry. Personally, I believe that its possible to make a DOS XP "rescue disk" for these cases when the GUI crash and you're unable to get into your drive anymore (because there's no text-mode command line). A DOS boot-disk with NTFS access and NTFS-compatible tools will proove to be very helpful in the near future.
