Actually, I'm yet to install dibble's package, as I still roll my own kernels :) hence the mispelling. But i am going to install it on a friend's computer, whom I have been making kernels for myself for quite a while.
I got the kernel out quick, thanks to the kernel.org RSS feeds, I always know when theres a new one, as well as the fact that Con is always amazingly quick in responding to new releases. I started using the app 'quilt' for this release to make my patches, and it more than halves the time it takes to make the package. I should make an arch package of it, it's truly awesome. That's an awesome response time too we've gone from kernel release, to a package in community in under 24 hours! The kernel came out at 0003 GMT, ck kernel at 0700 GMT, my patch at 1300 GMT, and the arch package at 1900 GMT. That's fast. I dont think any distro gets many updates at all out that fast, let alone a major kernel release. It was in community before the vanilla kernel, which is yet to be updated. Good work dibble and Con. :) Thanks for all the comments & support, I really appreciate it, James On 8/30/05, Philip Dillon-Thiselton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > No, you are correct andrew it is kernel26archck and the new pkg is > already in community > > Andrew Conkling wrote: > > >On 8/29/05, James Rayner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > >>Arch Linux Users, archck is available in the community repository, to > >>get it, add the community repo and pacman -S kernel26-archck.
