[aspectj-users] AspectJ 1.5.2a

We have made an AspectJ 1.5.2a release available from the AspectJ downloads page. This release is identical to 1.5.2, with the addition of an inclusion of a fix for bug 153572 ( https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=153572). This fix is needed when load-time weaving with aspects that use annotation matching based on type annotations (the fix is also included in the 1.5.3 development stream).

The reason for releasing a 1.5.2a is that the bug prevented one of the aspects in the Spring 2.0 aspect library from working correctly, and the forthcoming Spring 2.0 final release could not depend on a development version of AspectJ.

1.5.2a is therefore the latest stable release, but as always the "best" AspectJ is the latest development build. Development builds in the 1.5.3 release stream contain many fixes that are *not* included in 1.5.2a, including many fixes made subsequent to the release of 1.5.2 and before we put out 1.5.2a.
