I've just tried `make linux26 ; make install' with zaptel from SVN
I noticed that it incorrectly installed to /lib/modules/2.6.17/misc

Which distro, exactly?
Do you have an official kernel?
Do you have linux-headers-2.6.17-2-686 installed?
If not official: /lib/modules/2.6.17-2-686/build
It's Debian, testing, linux-image-2.6.17-2-686 and the corresponding
source package. I recompiled the kernel using an identical config to
the official one, just to make sure that the Zaptel modules and kernel
would be built with the same gcc.
The box is a fresh install that I did yesterday.
The headers package wasn't installed, however, the source package was
unpacked and a symlink /usr/src/linux -> linux-source-2.6.17-2-686 was
in place
Also, when I do `modprobe wct4xxp', I see this in the kernel debug:
TE4XXP: Version Synchronization Error!
Did you build it with userspace firmware loading?
Not sure, I just did:
make linux26
make install
A quick Google search didn't find any real mention of what that means -
can someone please enlighten me? There is a Digium Quad E.1 board,
TE405P, in the machine.

Daniel
