PXE would be desirable since I already have a PXE server set up, but I
haven't been able to find out about it. Failing that I'd be willing to try
and set up a Apple NetBoot compatible server on my Ubuntu backend.

Assuming I had a copy of MacOS Server, I could maybe run that in a VM on the
Ubuntu box, just to act as a NetBoot server.  :-b
