Unfortunately aufs doesn't have such feature.
I'd suggest you to try raid first. If you don't like it, then my next
suggestion is to develop a new fs.
In other words,
- mirror in block device layer
- mirror in fs layer
+ if you can live without high-performance, fuse may be a good option.
+ of course, you can mirror manually by periodic rsync or something.
+ it is possible to develop a new fs in kernel space, but I believe it
must be last choice.
+ anyway, you have to consider what to do when an write-error happens.
