Thanks for the memories, from one who was flying an ASW 17 there. I well 
remember the final glide  beatups across the lake to the runway threshold.  The 
last 20 km was often over dense forests.    I think many of the Australian crew 
are still active in gliding but probably don’t fit those fashions after 40 
years.

Video of he world comps in Finland  1976. Well worth a watch.

 

It got me thinking, who is the greatest of all time - Ingo, Lee, Reichmann, 
Kawa, Sommers?
