Great!  I would like this feature as well and would be willing to help. 
Note that the top level directory does not have to be /net.  The top
level hierarchy is arbitrary and is activated by using the -hosts entry
in your auto_master file, eg.:

          /net           -hosts         -nosuid

or
        /hosts          -hosts          -nosuid

Implementation should not be too hard but it will involve querying the
remote machine to get the list of filesystems to mount.
