Honestly, as long as we don't have to change the markup we are using, I
don't
really care what we use. I would like to maintain the FOP PDF
generation for
the "Developing With Avalon" docs, but we need one standard for doc
generation.

Somewhere in one of the gazillion messages someone hinted that we had a
mixed
environment and that someone was converting everything in Avalon they
were
working on to another standard. If this is true, it is something we
need to
vote on.

While it is a cool idea to have Cocoon take care of doc generation, it
is rather
heavy for that purpose at this time. I can agree on that point.
However, changing
or mixing doc generation strategies can be confusing. We need something
that
works, and works well--without us losing our expressiveness in the
markup or
anything along those lines. If we directly apply our XSLT stylesheets,
I am
quite happy with that. If we use Anakia, make the stylesheet work with
our
existing doc standards.

However it is something worthy of a vote on Avalon-Dev. Present your
arguments
for or against. At this point I don't care about dogfood arguments, I
just want
something that works. Our current state is just unnexceptable. Doc
generation
needs to be as brainless as adding the xdocs and have it work, without
requiring
512 MB of ram.
