Sounds good René, but I'm afraid I'm quite a newbie regarding avrdude code and I don't think I can take on working on such a big change. I've done a little bit of a hack to remove the off by one issue for the linuxgpio programmer. If you or anyone implements this I can fix my code to use the proper solution.
