I am a Cocoon 2 user and have found that platform to be a bit tempermental. I don't know why, but it always seems to give me hassle. I am interested in AxKit hoping that it will work better.
One problem with Cocoon 2 is hosting. I have to use Java hosting which is more expensive than Linux/Apache hosting. What should I look for in a host? mod_perl? What else?
