The server log has a bunch (17k) of "BackupPC_refCountUpdate: missing pool
file" messages. Reread the v4 docs, github wiki, issues and a bunch of
messages on this email listserve.

I am correct that these messages are benign and do not indicate that a
backed up file is missing a pool file? My overriding concern is that a
file will not be able to recover when needed and that issue was signaled by
a benign log message.

What additional steps should be taken to resolve these
"BackupPC_refCountUpdate" messages?
So far, the config was updated as below earlier this year to give the
nightly processes time to work through the refCountUpdates. With the config
below, it should have worked though in a few days.

Backuppc version 4.4.0.
Config (Server Settings have not changed in 90+ days.)

   - PoolV3Enabled = not checked
   - BackupPCNightlyPeriod = 1
   - PoolSizeNightlyUpdatePeriod = 2
   - PoolNightlyDigestCheckPercent = 50

backuppc admin and user for 5+ years. Initial install started with
~v3.3.0. Never installed beta. Consistently upgraded each release.

Server Log has thousands of these messages for missing pool files in each
day's log and across the last 60 days of available server logs. No other
errors are reporting in the server logs.

sidenote - Have not verified each of the full and incremental backups by
doing a test restore of each. Does anyone has a linux shell script that
loops through each of the hosts, does a restore to a temp area, reports any
errors and cleans up? DR best practices include verifying and a backuppc
wiki howto got me thinking about verifying.
