The Baha'i Studies Listserv Greetings, All ! I joined a couple of weeks ago and am just beginning to follow your conversations. Am I supposed to introduce myself? Actually, I'm not sure the history and purpose of this list and would appreciate someone explaining -- as a separate topic.
I simply wanted to contribute my own thought. I come from a Christian background but I would assume the halo effect would usually be a photographic technique. I saw this to the point of nausea when I spent a few months studying Scientology many years ago. I have no doubt that Abd'ul Baha has indescribable divine aura not capturable by current technology, but nothing about L.Ron Hubbard inspired that confidence!
