http://diveintopython3.org/ has been released, so maybe you can start with 3.0 but OTOH, I don't know Python 3.0, so you should take this with a pinch of salt. Python 2.6 is going to be around for a while, so if you're looking for employment opportunities maybe that makes more sense. http://diveintopython.org/ in that case.
