People put in a lot of effort to produce these works and they deserve recognition and payment. If you want free books, there are several that are available online for free (legally). The official Python tutorial is one such example[1]. There's also Zed Shaws LPtHW[2] - the HTML version is freely available online. If you find it good, buy the PDF to support the author. Dive into Python[3] is another GFDL'ed book available online. There's also A Byte of Python[4].
