Reviews

Yochanan
Godzilla vs Kong. Not a masterpiece, but fun. Loved it. If you’re a fan. Some
surprises. Dolby theatre at Eastridge rattled frequently (a good thing). Worth
full price.
JohnO: Watched as well. Enjoyed. Opening scene reminded him of Shrek. Kong has
many WTF moments. Well put together. Humans are along with the ride. Both show
they are not dumb animals. Nice mix of characters. Highly recommend. Free for
HBOMax subscribers.
Howierd: Is there a Raymond Burr character? (no)

Rick
Falcon and Winter Soldier. Engaging and entertaining. It’s not WandaVision.
Worth it so far. Looking forward to Loki later this year.
Yochanan: Wasn’t bowled over by first episode, but got hooked on with the
second.

DaveC
eBay: A week and a half ago released new vendor pages. Complete redesign. Can’t
tell you how exciting that was for the community. They appear to still be
fiddling with it. Some things were available on desktop, but not on mobile.
Approaching worth full value.

Gayle
YouTube: Howeird performance of “Make you wear your mask (filk)”. Beutifully
sung (in tune) and set design. Worth full price. youtu.be/a-uEfDpIwpM

NorwesCon: Used to go every year, but got too expensive. This year it was $35
for a virtual con. Awash with very smart people on the panels. Science GOH Dr.
Susan Langley, underwater archaeologist in Maryland. AirMeet was used, but she
had problems (only useable on Chrome).
Lisa: Attended as well. AirMeet is weirdly setup. Best set for office
conferences, on a computer. App (and mobile version) has half of the
capabilities of the desktop website. Some nice features, when it wasn’t
crashing. There were different virtual areas you could visit.

Kennita
Went up to Santa Rosa to see a prototype for the next burning man temple. Looks
like fun, climbable. Space for memorials, and other things to be burned at the
end. 40’ high, 120’ long. There may not be one this year, so it may be for
2022. Built in smaller pieces. She also bought a crisp white wine from the
winery that it was being built at.
Howierd: Local Las Vegas news are reporting “no burning man this year.”

Rumor of the Week:

If the imperial storm trooper's women's basketball team were to play the
Stanford women, they would still lose by one point!
