Hello,

Bert Bos has kindly contributed fonts which are now availalble in the CVS repository under the contrib/fonts/gladiator/ directory (look into the svg subdirectory) [1].

Bert has contributed the Gladiator fonts he created which include serif and sanserif fonts as well as small caps versions. Bert is planning on contributing the True Type versions of these fonts as well but we are sorting out a couple issues with the current versions.

The advantage of using SVG fonts is that you can embed them in your SVG document which guarantees a consistent rendering accross viewers. You can either embed fonts directly into your SVG content or you can reference an external font from a <font-face> element [2].

Enjoy & thanks Bert!
Regards,
Vincent.

There are multiple examples in the Batik samples. For example, see the
files in the samples/tests/spec/fonts directory.
